Grand Cayman is home to some of the most spectacular wall diving sites anywhere in the world. Whether you're a certified diver or a complete newcomer, the diversity of the wall dive sites offers fantastic opportunities for some truly exciting dives!
The Grand Cayman wall starts at a depth of approximately 40 ft. and can slope off to more than 2,000 ft. in several areas. The phenomenal views and teeming wildlife offer amazing opportunities for breathtaking underwater sightseeing. Here are the characteristics of the Grand Cayman wall diving sites:
The North Wall of Grand Cayman has the most famous and popular dive sites – and it's easy to see why! The bounty of marine life, calm waters, and high visibility have inspired countless dive magazines to fall all over themselves with praise, ranking the Grand Cayman North Wall dive sites as one of the top five dive destinations in the world. Oh, and the North Wall is also home to the famous Stingray City, so you'll want to stop by and say hi to the local rays!
The South Wall dive sites are exceptionally beautiful. The Japanese Gardens are particularly astounding; the site is like a naturally occurring interactive museum! Although the South Wall doesn't have many of the big sea creatures that make the North Wall so popular, the Spotted Drum Fish – the zebra of the sea – can occasionally be seen, so keep your eyes peeled!
Quite possibly the most hospitable diving region in Grand Cayman, the West Wall diving sites are extremely popular. Calm conditions and exceptionally clear waters offer visibility of approximately 100 ft. or more. Stunning coral reefs, turtles, sharks, fascinating sponges, chutes, swim-thrus, caverns, and shipwreck dives make the West Wall a dive site not to be missed!
The East Wall dive sites are generally considered to be the least accessible in the Grand Cayman, but if the weather is fair and the conditions aren't too rough, these dive sites might be the most stunning. Since these sites are the least visited, the ecosystem is pretty much pristine, with Fantastic canyons, crevices, coral valleys and tarpon galore.
